This book presents a fresh approach to teaching medical assisting, and includes the latest information on Emergency Preparedness, the Electronic Health Record (one chapter is devoted to this important topic), and a comprehensive chapter on medical law and ethics.  Clinical chapters use a body systems approach. In this unique format, it includes instruction of required clinical content and competencies in the body systems to which they apply. A discussion of anatomy and physiology is included in each of the body systems chapters, and is a great tool for instructors who are unable to gauge the amount of anatomy & physiology a student has learned prior to the course, or the level of the A&P course taken prior to enrollment.  This, along with the medical terminology, can be used to reinforce the material in the rest of the chapter.
