An Introduction to Education: Choosing Your Teaching Path

This first edition text is designed to help pre-service teachers identify and confirm certification levels for their future careers, as well as better understand the learning process across the preK-12 environment.  An Introduction to Education: Choosing Your Teaching Path is unique due to its approach--focusing on 12 students (a variety from all grade levels) as well as teachers and administrators.  The author not only uses these focus students, teachers, and administrators in the opening chapter scenarios, but carries them through the text as classroom examples.

The text is accompanied by video that includes classroom footage of the focus students and teachers.  No other introduction to teaching text does this: realistically captures students and teachers in action, includes them in the text as examples, and also includes photographs of the focus subjects.

The overall theme is "how are the children?", reminding readers that no matter what they do in the classroom or in their professional development, that as a teacher they must always remember the student first in all actions.
